Privacy Policy

Who we are

Kestrel Accounts is a product of Fulgur Forge, a trade name of ChrisV Consulting LLC, a limited liability company organized in the State of Colorado. When this policy says "we," "us," or "Kestrel," it means ChrisV Consulting LLC doing business as Fulgur Forge. If you subscribe, charges and receipts appear from Fulgur Forge.

Information we collect

Account and firm data. What you provide at signup and in settings: your name, email address, firm name, and firm details such as state, size, and industry focus.

Working data. What your firm enters to run its practice: client business names and contact details, checklist items, task statuses, pending requests, notes, advisory notes, projects, to-dos, and prospect intake information.

Payment data. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive subscription status and billing metadata; we do not store your full card number.

Technical data. Standard logs needed to operate and secure the service: IP address, browser type, and authentication events. We use session cookies to keep you signed in. On our public marketing pages we also collect analytics and session-recording data through third-party tools, described under Cookies and analytics below; these do not run on the signed-in application.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and secure the service, process subscription payments, respond to support requests, and send essential service communications. We may use de-identified, aggregated usage data to understand and improve the product. We do not use your firm's client records to train machine-learning models.

Your clients' information

Your firm enters information about its own clients into Kestrel. By doing so, you confirm you have the authority or consent to record it. We process that information solely on your firm's behalf to provide the service: we do not contact your clients, market to them, or disclose their information except as described in this policy.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:

• Vendors and service providers we engage to operate the product on our behalf, covering hosting and infrastructure, database and authentication, payment processing, analytics, and customer support. They are bound to use your information only to provide those services to us, and the specific providers may change from time to time as our operations require;
• Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Fulgur Forge, our customers, or others;
• A successor entity if Fulgur Forge is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data.

Your firm's data is never visible to other firms using Kestrel.

Data hosting and security

Data is stored with our hosting and database providers, with per-firm isolation enforced at the database layer and encryption in transit and at rest. No system is completely secure; we work to protect your data with reasonable technical and organizational measures, and we will notify affected firms of a breach as required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your firm's data while your account is active. You can request an export of your firm's data or full deletion at any time by contacting us; we delete within a reasonable period, except records we must keep for legal, billing, or fraud-prevention purposes. If you start signup and don't finish, the details you entered are deleted on a rolling schedule.

Your rights and choices

You may access, correct, export, or delete your firm's information. Most of it is directly editable in the product; for anything else, contact us and we'll verify your identity and respond. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; contact us to exercise them.

Communications

We send essential service communications (sign-in links, billing notices, security alerts) that cannot be opted out of while you have an account. Marketing communications, if any, are optional and include an unsubscribe link.

Cookies and analytics

Authentication cookies. We use cookies to sign you in and keep your session active. Blocking cookies will prevent sign-in from working.

Analytics cookies. On our public marketing pages, the pages you can see without signing in, we use two third-party measurement tools:

• Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to measure traffic, referral sources, and which pages lead to signups;
• Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymized session replays and builds heatmaps of clicks and scrolling, so we can see where the site confuses people.

Both run on public pages only. Neither is loaded on the signed-in application, so your firm's working data and your clients' information are never captured by them. You can opt out through your browser's cookie and privacy settings or with a tracker-blocking extension. A browser Do Not Track signal is honored where the provider supports it, though support varies, so browser-level blocking is the more reliable option.

Children's privacy

Kestrel Accounts is a business tool for bookkeeping firms and is not directed to anyone under 18. If we learn we hold personal information of a minor, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email or in-product notice before the changes take effect, and update the effective date above.
